I got to chat with Shape.com about meeting my husband Bradford when I was at my largest size and the amazing lessons I learned from that experience. Click the title to read the full article on Shape.com
This summer, we had the honor of introducing a self-love course to the Division of Adolescent Youth and Medicine at Children's Hospital LA. Through this program, Healthy is the New Skinny and Natural Models LA worked with 6 chronically-ill teen girls to develop a healthy body image by teaching them to process media in a healthy way as well as practicing self-love and care.
Throughout our 8 weeks with these girls our courses included identifying harmful advertising tactics in the media, chatting with a food scientist, learning new healthy recipes, and setting goals for a balanced and happy future.
Each week, we watched these girls grow and we got to see their self-love glow during our photoshoot day!
In the past at Children's Hospital, photoshoot days would be held, but unfortunately many of the clothes donated were too small for some of the patients and many were left out of the experience. We wanted to make sure that each of our girls felt beautiful so we had an amazing volunteer glam squad to give custom makeovers to each girl. We also had an amazing group of sponsors: JustFab.com, Fashion to Figure, Charlotte Russe, Hot Topic, who donated amazing pieces in all sizes for our girls!
We had a few of our amazing Natural Models present to help style and give these girls an experience they would never forget.
This week @jazminwhitley stopped by my home in Palm Springs to raid my closet and we had the best time ever! Not only did we chat about my personal style, we delved into some problematic trending on social media when it comes to body image. Check out what we had to say and comment on the video for your chance to win a copy of Healthy is the New Skinny: Your Guide to Self-Love in a "Picture Perfect" World!
Bra shopping is such a big part of who we are as women and the truth is, fit can affect the way we feel about our bodies!
Healthy is the New Skinny has partnered with True & Co. and Natural Models to get real about something we've all experienced...which is bra shopping!
Throughout history, bras have been marketed to shape our bodies in a way that is aesthetically pleasing to others. But what about what we want? What are we really look for in a bra? More importantly, how have our preconceived notions about bras and bra fittings affected our self-image?
We are opening up the conversation to find out how fit affects the way we think and feel about our bodies to learn how we can break the stigmas associated with something that is so natural.
We are so excited to begin sharing real stories from women, who like you, have had a love/hate relationship with their past bra experiences.
Tag #MyFirstFit to join the conversation and share your bra shopping and fit stories with us!
Well, it's not every day you get to be on the cover of a magazine...and I'm so glad it got to be for Fernwood Fitness in Australia (who in my opinion nailed the cover titles)! This is the kind of health magazine covers we need: real content about real health with positive messaging! Click HERE to read to full article!

When I'm traveling and giving presentations on media manipulation and body image, nothing is more uncomfortable than having to walk around in heels all day. As much as I respect a good pant-suit, that will never be me. Instead, I thought I'd mesh around with a look that's professional, comfortable, and representative of me!
I've also styled this look with my favorite rose-gold sneakers from Zara! ($39.90). This look is versatile and can be cute and sporty or professional, just add the blazer! You can even throw a pair of pumps in your bag just in case. It's all about finding what works for you and your personal style so that you can take on whatever the day brings! For me, comfort is always key.
Thank you Yoga Magazine and Hay House UK for such a great feature with my True baby!
